BETONYOU: Athletes take the lead on their professional future
For the first time, athletes and entrepreneurs are joining forces to build a company designed to transform career transition in sport for the long term.
Paris, 2 September 2026 – BetOnYou today announces its official launch with a clear ambition: to make athletes' career transition an issue that is structured, recognised and addressed at scale.
More than a startup, BetOnYou is a company founded and driven by athletes who have chosen to build the solutions they wish had existed when they began preparing for life beyond their sporting careers.
The project brings together Origins Fund co-founders Yohan Benalouane and Blaise Matuidi; Bruno Sola, founder of Bizness, a next-generation learning leader, and CEO of Network; Sébastien Duhamel, a sports industry expert with 20 years of experience; as well as Caroline Garcia, Antoine Dupont, Axel Allétru and Zohra Kehli as Founding Athletes. They are joined by Samuel Tual, President of Actual Group, and Hugo Mendes, founder of Clover.
A COMPANY BORN FROM A REALITY EXPERIENCED BY ATHLETES
The story of BetOnYou grew out of recurring conversations between Bruno Sola, Yohan Benalouane and Blaise Matuidi and athletes in the middle or final stages of their sporting careers.
Again and again, the same reality emerged: after years spent performing at the highest level, athletes possess an extraordinary wealth of skills, yet have few tools to identify, translate and showcase them in the professional world.
This issue takes on even greater significance given that nearly 80%* of elite athletes are reported to experience episodes of depression after their sporting careers.
Through conversations with hundreds of athletes, one thing became clear: the problem is not a lack of talent, but a lack of ways to translate that talent and those skills into the professional world.

At a time when careers are becoming less linear, artificial intelligence is reshaping jobs, and companies are looking for new ways to identify skills and potential, this issue now extends far beyond the world of sport.
To give this vision the scale and resources it requires, Samuel Tual joined the project, bringing investment capacity, an entrepreneurial network and the means to support its development. Sébastien Duhamel subsequently completed the founding team to structure the strategy and technology.
ATHLETES ARE NOT LENDING THEIR IMAGE: THEY ARE BUILDING THE COMPANY
One of BetOnYou's defining features is its governance model. In an industry where athletes are often asked to lend their image to a project, BetOnYou turns that model on its head: athletes lead the project, take part in decision-making and help build the company.
They contribute to product development, strategic direction and the company's growth.
While most career-transition programmes are created for athletes, BetOnYou is designed with them, by them and governed by them.
Around them, a unique ecosystem has taken shape, bringing together HR experts, performance psychologists, entrepreneurs, major companies and sports organisations to build a new infrastructure dedicated to athletes' professional futures.
Experts involved in the project include Mathieu Nebra (OpenClassrooms), Hélène Wendling (former HR Director at Puma), Stéphane Madoeuf (HEC Paris) and Cyril Burdet, coach of the French women's biathlon team.
BetOnYou also relies on strategic partnerships to accelerate the deployment of its solutions and create tangible bridges between sport and the world of work. The momentum is already extending beyond sport: more than 200 companies have joined the movement, alongside athletes, entrepreneurs and sports fans who believe the time has come to rethink what happens after a sporting career.

A FIRST LAUNCH, WITH A MUCH BIGGER AMBITION
On 29 September 2026, BetOnYou will launch B.Explorer, its first solution.
Powered by artificial intelligence, B.Explorer will enable athletes to identify and make visible the skills developed throughout their sporting careers, before exploring concrete professional pathways based on their experience, aspirations and plans.
B.Explorer is the first building block in a much broader project: to progressively build a comprehensive ecosystem dedicated to athletes' professional futures, capable of supporting them before, during and after their sporting careers.
In the long term, BetOnYou aims to support several thousand athletes and become an international reference in athlete career transition and professional development.
